At the San Diego Zoo, the 1-Day Pass package includes Zoo admission with unlimited use of Guided Bus Tour, Express Bus, Skyfari aerial tram, and all exhibits and shows.

At the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, the 1-Day Pass package includes Park admission with unlimited use of the Africa Tram and all exhibits and shows.

Our advance-sale admission tickets and ticket cards expire 12 months from the the date of issue and expiration dates are printed on tickets.  Expired, unused tickets and ticket cards may be accepted up to 12 months after the printed expiration date on the ticket or ticket card.  After that, we offer a discount toward the purchase of a current 1-Day Pass ticket in person at any ticket window.  

Complimentary admission tickets (including member Guest Passes) are only valid through the printed date on the ticket and may include block out dates, also printed on the ticket.  No extensions or waivers are permitted.  Expired, unused complimentary tickets can be exchanged in person for a discount toward the purchase of a current 1-Day Pass ticket at any ticket window.

Print at Home tickets are valid for one year from the date of purchase.  Expiration dates are printed on tickets (be sure to check the year!)

As noted in the Terms and Conditions on our website, all tickets purchased online are nonrefundable/nonreturnable.  We are unable to issue exchanges or refunds after an online purchase has been made.

No AAA or Senior discounts can be applied toward print at home tickets. These offers must be redeemed at the San Diego Zoo or San Diego Zoo Safari Park's ticket windows by presenting your AAA card or photo ID (seniors).

Your ticket can only be scanned once at the turnstile, regardless of how many copies you have.

You have several delivery options when purchasing your tickets online. After completing the “Billing” screen, the “Delivery Information” screen allows you to choose the ticket delivery method that best suits your needs. Selecting the Print at Home delivery method allows you to print your tickets using your home or office computer and printer. Your tickets are emailed to you with a pdf attachment. Print the attachment and bring your printed tickets to the main entrance to be admitted to either park.

If you are unable to retrieve your tickets, please present your order number, valid ID and the credit card used to make the purchase at any ticket window upon arrival and we can reprint your tickets at that time.

An authorization or pending “hold” is a banking industry practice of authorizing electronic transactions made with a debit or credit card and holding this balance as unavailable either until the merchant “clears” the transaction (also called “settlement”) or the hold “drops off.” When a guest inadvertently charges a card multiple times during the same transaction, more than one hold can appear on the account.

Basically, when a debit or credit card number is submitted, it is transmitted as an electronic inquiry to determine if funds are available to cover the potential transaction. The bank automatically places a hold on the amount until the merchant clears or “settles” the transaction (usually at the close of business each day). These holds usually drop off after one to three days, depending on the issuing bank’s policy.

Whenever possible and at the issuing bank’s request, we are happy to cooperate to resolve “pending hold” issues, but it’s important to note that while a request to release a hold can be made, not all banks will honor one. And even if they do, the release of funds may not be instant. Ultimately, merchants do not have the ability to release an authorization hold; the only entity that can do so is the issuing card’s bank.

Although refund requests can take up to two days to electronically process, the issuing card’s bank ultimately decides when the credit will be applied to the cardholder’s account. Depending upon when the refund is issued within the card’s statement cycle, it may take up to two cycles for an account statement to reflect a refund.

San Diego Zoo Global is a non-profit organization that supports other non-profit organizations in Southern California by providing charitable contributions in the form of complimentary tickets good for the San Diego Zoo or the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.  Each eligible organization may receive a maximum of two (2) complimentary 1-Day Pass tickets per organization per calendar year. San Diego Global requires that these certain criteria be met in order to be considered for ticket donations.  Due to the volume of requests we receive, we are unable to respond to telephone inquiries and we cannot accept requests sent by email or fax.

Our organization works with local hospitals and wish support organizations to accommodate individuals of all ages and families in need. These organizations fall within the State and Federally instituted not-for-profit guidelines we are required to follow.  We encourage individuals and families with specific needs to contact one of these organizations for additional information and to arrange a visit.

As a non-profit organization which itself raises funds to support our mission, San Diego Zoo Global is unable to raise funds or provide grants to sponsor other organizations.  We are unable to provide complimentary Special Experiences, Safaris, Tours or Programs at our parks.

Each year, from October 1–31, in honor of our Zoo’s founding, children ages 11 and younger are admitted free to the Zoo and Safari Park when accompanied by an adult age 18+ (children ages 2 and younger are always free).  In 2017, we're please to announce Mission Federal Credit Union will again be the event sponsor of Kids Free Month!

The Zoo’s Guided Bus Tour and the Skyfari Aerial Tram are not included with Kids’ Free entrance and must be purchased separately at the Zoo. The Safari Park’s Africa Tram is not included with Kids Free entrance and must be purchased separately at the Park. Adults may purchase their admission ticket(s) online, by phone, or day of at the Zoo or Safari Park. Qualifying children ages 11 and younger entering free do not need a ticket to enter.

No.  The Zoo and Safari Park no longer offer a single free admission day (traditionally called Founder’s Day). Instead, the month of October is now “Kids Free” with free admission (entrance only) offered to children 11 years and younger at both the Zoo and the Safari Park.

Yes!  AAA members who show their valid AAA membership cards at ticket windows located at the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park receive 10% off a 1-Day Pass. Valid for up to 6 people. Discount cannot be combined with any other coupon or offer. AAA discount cannot be applied online or by phone as guests need to present their AAA card in person to receive the discount.

Yes!  Military discounts are valid every day of the year, including ALL holidays!  Visit as often as you wish!

Active duty U.S. Armed Forces personnel* receive a complimentary 1-Day Pass to the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park upon presenting a Common Access Card (CAC) or Uniformed Services ID Card at any ticket window. Complimentary admission is reserved exclusively for active duty service members upon presenting valid ID.

Military spouses and eligible dependents receive a 10% discount off the 1-Day Pass at both the Zoo and Safari Park and do not need to be accompanied by an active duty member of the Armed Forces.  Just show your valid dependent ID card at any ticket window! 

Retirees and veterans:  We do not offer a discount, having already done so during one's years of active service; however, we work with MWR Departments on board local military installations to offer discount packages for U.S. military families, retirees, veterans and others. Prices charged at individual U.S. military base ticket offices for Zoo and Safari Park tickets may be lower than the 10% discount price offered to qualified dependents at our gates.  Please contact your military MWR Ticket Office for discount requirements on ticket purchases.

At the Zoo, the 1-Day Pass includes Zoo admission with unlimited use of Guided Bus Tour, Express Bus, Skyfari aerial tram, and all exhibits and shows.  At the Safari Park, the 1-Day Pass includes Park admission with unlimited use of the Africa Tram and all exhibits and shows. 

 

*Includes active duty members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard; members of the Reserve components (Ready Reserve, National Guard, and Reservists in training); and cadets of service academies and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy

Yes!  Groups of 15 or more paying admission receive a 10% discount off the 1-Day Pass.  Groups of 100 or more paying admission receive a 15% discount off the 1-Day Pass.  Advance reservations are strongly recommended.

For your convenience, we offer Meal Vouchers, accepted at participating restaurants. Meal vouchers are $15 per person and can be redeemed at participating restaurants for an entree combo or child's plate and a drink.  Meal Vouchers eliminate the need for cash at restaurants and may save on the cost of purchasing items à la carte.  Meal Vouchers include an informational flyer detailing participating restaurants and items offered at each park.  Our restaurants throughout both parks are committed to providing a wide selection of high-quality, delicious all-American or international fare, snacks, and healthful alternatives.

Group reservations and Meal Vouchers can be arranged through our Reservation Sales Department at 619-718-3000, open daily at 8:30 a.m.

Yes!  Eligible airline and cruise line employees presenting a company-issued picture identification badge or CLIA card and one accompanying guest will receive a 10% discount off the 1-Day Pass at the Zoo and Safari Park ticket windows.   All other accompanying guests pay the full ticket price at any ticket window at the same time the airline/cruise line ticket is processed. Discount cannot be combined with any other coupon or offer.

Yes!  Travel Agents, wholesalers, and tour operators presenting a valid IATA or IATAN card with picture ID and one accompanying guest receive a 10% discount off the 1-Day Pass at the Zoo and the Safari Park ticket windows. All other accompanying guests pay the full ticket price at any ticket window at the same time the travel agent ticket is processed. Discount cannot be combined with any other coupon or offer.

No.  The San Diego Zoo is a self-supporting, not-for-profit conservation organization that raises funds to maintain its parks, provide state-of-the-art animal care for endangered species, and pursue conservation efforts around the world. Most of our funds are raised through admission and on-grounds sales at our parks. Unlike most zoos in the US, we are not largely supported by municipal, state, or federal funds. In the interest of supporting our conservation mission, we do not offer complimentary or discount admission to members of other zoos or affiliated organizations.
