Costume Policy

As part of the San Diego Zoo’s HalGLOWeen experience, we invite our younger guests to dress up as their favorite animal, monster, or other character.

To ensure the safety of all of our guests, we ask you to choose costumes based on the following guidelines:

  • Costumes should be child-friendly and appropriate for an audience of all ages.
  • Costumes should not obstruct motion or vision, and eyes must be visible at all times.
  • Accessories should not contain fake fingernails, sharp objects, pointed objects, or materials that may accidentally strike another guest.
  • Costumes should not contain any weapons, which resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.

Only guests 11 years old and younger will be allowed into the Zoo in costume. The San Diego Zoo reserves the right to deny admission to or remove any person wearing attire that is considered inappropriate or attire that could detract from the experience of other guests.
