San Diego Zoo Early Morning Explorers Program Advisements
The San Diego Zoo is located at 2920 Zoo Drive, San Diego, CA 92101.
Check-in: 10 minutes prior to departure at Rex the Lion statue in front of main entrance.
Minimum Age:
All ages welcome; recommended for families with youths ages 3 – 12.
Maximum of 2 children per adult.
Ages 15 and younger must be accompanied by a paid adult.
A separate admission ticket or membership is required for San Diego Zoo entry.
Change/Cancellation:
Reservations may be changed up to 3 days before the program with no change fee. Less than 3 days, changes not permitted.
Cancellations received 3 days before the scheduled program are subject to a $25 Cancellation Fee. Less than 3 days, payment is non-refundable.
Some walking is required during the tour.
Early Morning Explorers Tours are an all-weather event; however, during periods of inclement weather the San Diego Zoo reserves the right to cancel or reroute a tour due to inclement weather, animal health, and/or safety concerns. In the event of cancellation, efforts will be made to reschedule you for another Early Morning Explorer tour.
For the safety of our animals and the comfort of our guests, outside food and beverages, selfie sticks, and tripods (except tripods used as monopods) are not permitted in wildlife habitat areas. Drinking water in closed-lid containers is recommended.
