This year's Jungle Bells brings the return of Aurora—a magical and spectacular experience with lights, 3D projections, and music. Also enjoy traditional lighting displays, musical performances and entertainment, visits with Santa (through December 25), tasty holiday treats, and much more. 'Tis the season to celebrate—join us for holiday cheer!

Jungle Bells is included with all admission tickets and memberships.



Jingle Brass Ensemble

Jingle Brass

The brass musical ensemble will get guests in the holiday spirit, as they play holiday favorites throughout the evening.

Santa’s acrobatic elves show off their bouncing and high-flying holiday magic in this amazing display of skill and athleticism.

Tree lighting

Celebration of Lights Experience

  • 4:55, 5:25, 5:55, 6:25, 6:55, 7:25, and 7:55 p.m. (5 minutes)

The Front Street Toog Tree is lighted and choreographed to a holiday soundtrack bringing the season to life, every 30 minutes during Jungle Bells.  

Dr. Zoolittle

Dr. Z's One Wild Night Before Christmas

  • 3:45, 4:45, 5:45, and 6:45 p.m. (20 minutes)

The inimitable Dr. Z gets in the holiday spirit by telling his own zany, interactive version of the classic Christmas story.

Dr. Harry and Friends

Dr. Harry and His Holiday Friends

Meet Santa’s favorite helpers, friendly Zoo Characters Dr. Harry Lion, Churchill Polar Bear,  Sydney Koala, and all their friends as they pose for holiday photos and spread the cheer of the season.

The Tinseltones

A cappella singers will bring their unique arrangements of holiday classics to the Boardwalk stage to delight guests—and bring a dusting of holiday magic to the area, creating a winter wonderland.

Holiday Troubadour

Our strolling, acoustic singer/guitarist will interact and entertain guests, getting them to sing along to his fun holiday classics.

At a certain time each evening, as you stroll the Zoo enjoying the crisp winter air and the holiday lights gracing the grounds, don’t be surprised to meet some friendly sprites (in fact, be sure to watch for them!). Representing wind, water, and ice, these ethereal entities each inhabit one of three areas of the Zoo. They love visitors and engage you with spritely goodwill and affection, then point the way down a special path where lighting, music, a soundscape, and more sprites set the mood as your journey leads you to Hua Mei Plaza. Here, the experience continues—and wows.

Soak up the magic of Aurora—an exciting immersive presentation. Blending sound, lights, 3D projection mapping, and performers, Aurora immerses you in a spectacular, magical experience unlike any other. The friendly sprites are here, too, sharing their story and the power of nature contained in their mystical orbs.

Aurora VIP Experience

Enjoy a delicious pre-show dinner at Albert's Restaurant and a reserved priority viewing area to watch the magic of Aurora. Cost is $75 per adult, $35 per child; nonmembers add Zoo admission.


Interactive games

Reindeer Games

Join in on all of the interactive fun, as kids of all ages take part in holiday games and dances that get them into the spirit of the season and up on their feet.

Northern Frontier's Holiday Forest

  • Polar Bear Plunge, Northern Frontier

Follow this festive forest pathway to trek through holiday décor and specially designed, lighted trees, to visit polar bears and reindeer. It’s a great holiday photo opportunity!
