Summer Camp

Adventures in Art Camp Fifth to Eighth Grade

  • Grades 5, 6, 7, and 8
  • $430 per week
  • June 10–14, June 17–21, June 24–28, July 8–12, July 15–19, July 22–26, July 29–August 2, or August 5–9
  • 9 a.m.–3 p.m.

    Grades 5–8: For campers entering Grade 5, 6, 7, or 8 in fall 2024.

  • Join us for Adventures in Art camp at the San Diego Zoo! Art students from beginners to advanced are welcome to participate in this full-day—9 a.m. to 3 p.m.—blended camp for students entering Grades 5 through 8 in the fall. Campers enjoy wildlife experiences, exclusive habitat visits, talks with wildlife care specialists and other Zoo staff, art projects, hands-on learning activities, crafts, and games. Artists will create projects inspired by wildlife in a variety of media. All art supplies are provided.

     

    Choose from two different Adventures in Art camp programs:

    Fantastic Fauna in 3D
    NEW PROGRAMMING
    From layering, shaping, carving, and coiling, artists learn essential skills for 3D art. Artists will enjoy this hands-on week of creating, with inspiration from wildlife! The Zoo provides all art supplies. Dates: June 10–14, June 24–28, July 15–19, or July 29–August 2.

    Wild Families in Wild Colors
    NEW PROGRAMMING
    Focusing on wildlife families and groups, artists create wild works of art in color. Artists learn how to use colored pencils, watercolors, oil pastels, and more—just like an expert! The Zoo provides all art supplies. Dates: June 17–21, July 8–12, July 22–26, or August 5–9.

     

    Facial coverings may be required.

     

    The health and safety of our campers and staff is our highest priority. The San Diego Zoo adheres to San Diego County, State of California Social Services Department, the Department of Public Health, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines for summer camps and child care facilities. Please be advised we may make modifications to our existing camp program to be alignment with these guidelines.
