Calling All Wildlife Explorers!
Throughout October, youths 11 years and younger receive free admission—no ticket is required when accompanied by an adult with a valid form of admission. It's a great time of year to enjoy the wonders of nature and discover wildlife of all sizes, shapes, and types. There's so much to experience within the Zoo's 100 acres—join the fun!
One adult with a valid form of admission can bring up to 6 youths ages 11 and younger free—all month long. For more information, see our FAQs.
HalGLOWeen
Mark your calendars and join in the seasonal family fun of HalGLOWeen, when the Zoo will stay open until 9 p.m. HalGLOWeen activities take place starting at 5 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in October.
Kids Free FAQ
Each year, from October 1–31, in honor of our Zoo’s founding, youths 11 years of age and younger are granted free entrance to the Zoo and Safari Park when accompanied during their visit by an adult age 18+ with a valid form of entry (membership, admission ticket, U.S. military ID, etc.). Youths ages 2 and younger are always free. Children ages 15 and younger must be accompanied by an adult 18+ with a valid form of entry during their visits to the Zoo and the Safari Park.
During the month of October, youths 11 years of age and younger get free admission to both the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park, when accompanied by an adult. During the entire year, youths age 2 and younger are admitted free, when accompanied by an adult.
Adults must use their valid active membership, pass, or admission ticket to enter the Zoo or Safari Park at any time during operating hours—including during Kids Free month. During the month of October, youths 11 years of age and younger are free.
During our October Kids Free event, each ticketed supervising adult may bring up to six (6) youths (ages 11 and younger) free.
Valid active duty military receive complimentary admission for themselves. Please bring your valid active duty CAC card with you. During the month of October, your children ages 11 and younger are free.
