Celebrate good fortune this Lunar New Year, a holiday recognized throughout many East and Southeast Asian countries. Those born during the Year of the Horse are known for their spirited energy, independence, and adventurous nature.

 

Join us for Lunar New Year and Wild Weekend: Asia on Saturday, February 21 and Sunday, February 22, 2026 at the San Diego Zoo. Enjoy fun activities for the whole family as we celebrate this vibrant tradition and the conservation work you make possible through our Asia Conservation Hub. Together we’re making a difference for giant pandas, tigers, orangutans, and other iconic Asian wildlife. Good wishes for the year ahead await you at the Zoo!

Early Morning with Pandas Walking Tour

  • Reservation Required

Greet giant pandas as they start their day. On this 60-minute tour, our experts will lead you on a guided stroll through the Zoo’s rolling hills towards your unforgettable destination: Denny Sanford Panda Ridge. Black, white, and loved all over, you’ll connect with this iconic species as you learn about panda care and conservation at the Zoo.

Bear Crawl

Bear Crawl Walking Tour (21+)

Sip and stroll through the Zoo on this 90-minute tour. Led by your knowledgeable guide, discover sloth bears, sun bears, and more while learning intriguing insights about them along the way. Your evening leads to an exclusive, after-hours visit to Panda Ridge, where you’ll uncover fascinating conservation stories about giant pandas. Happy hour is always more adventurous on the Bear Crawl Walking Tour. This premium experience includes two alcoholic or nonalcoholic beverages.

On this entertaining and educational 90-minute adventure, our expert guide will escort your group around in a cart. You’ll hear stories and see sights you can’t find anywhere else and experience wildlife like never before. All participants require a tour ticket, regardless of age.
